EMI is seeking proposals from Universities to host its 2011 Engineering Mechanics Conference.  Expressions of interest in hosting the 2011 conference are to be sent to the EMI President (wdiwan@caltech.edu) and the EMI Director (achaker@asce.org).

EMI 2010 Conference

August 8 - 11, 2010

EMI will hold its annual conference on August 8-11, 2010 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.   Dr. Roger Ghanem (Department of Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering) and Dr. Amy Rechenmacher (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering) will be the Co-chairs of the EMI 2010 Conference. The conference web site provides details on key dates, submission of symposium and organized session proposals, the tentative conference schedule,  transportation and hotel information, and registration information.

 

Important Dates:       

Abstract submissions deadline: May 1, 2010

Early Bird registration ends: May 30, 2010

2009 Joint ASCE-ASME-SES Conference on Mechanics & Materials - recap

The 2009 Joint ASCE-ASME-SES Conference on Mechanics  and Materials, took place on June 24th - 27th at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Keynote lectures were delivered by Dr. Habib Najm (Sandia National Laboratories), Prof. Alan Wineman (Univ. of Michigan), Prof. Richard Miller (Franklin W.
